Biography
Kim Johns

Kim Johns' first
sketches were of horses while she was in school. She filled
notebooks with drawings and became known by her peers for her work at an
early age. In high school, Kim was offered a summer commission in
Indiana to design a mural for a private residence. She remained
active in the arts throughout her high school days, winning the school
award for excellence in art in 1997.
Before deciding on
the University of Oklahoma, Kim competed for an arts scholarship to
Oklahoma Christian University and won first place. She chose the
University of Oklahoma and enrolled in 1999. During her time at OU,
Kim participated in numerous group shows and won several
scholarships. More importantly, she developed her unique style and
focus on color schemes. Kim
completed college while pregnant with her and her husband's first child.
Mrs. Johns took a
brief period of time off when she became pregnant with twins in
2005. After the birth of her healthy daughters, she resumed her
career (in between chasing toddlers.) She recently completed the
"Accident Series" and exhibited her work in Julie's Juice n
Java of Yukon. Kim plans on being featured at the Czech Festival
in October.
